HAMPTON, VA.- Teledyne Technologies Inc., Hastings Instruments (THI) has introduced a new family of mass flow meters, the 400-I-Series, designed for the industrial gas market. THI, an ISO 9001:2000 certified manufacturer, produces a complete line of instruments for precise measurement and control of vacuum, pressure, and gas flow.

June’s Issue of Flow Control Magazine highlighted 28 nominees for this year’s Innovation Award. In the eleventh year of the magazine’s award, the 400-I Series was selected from over 200 applications. Flow Control recognizes “industry’s most compelling advances in fluid handling technology, showcasing new product releases in the categories of fluid measurement, control, and containment.” Winners will be announced in September’s issue.

The instrument was well-received at ISA and is an attractive alternative to other less accurate technologies. Utilizing its advanced gas flow research, Teledyne Hastings offers a thermal mass flow meter with exceptional linearity and fast response for medium to high gas flows. The linearity of the laminar flow element allows for highly accurate measurements when changing between gases such as Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Ethylene, Propane and Methane. Featuring microprocessor-based electronics with broad capability in an IP-65 enclosure, the 400-I Series is ideal for today’s requirements in industrial gas flow measurement applications. Six standard gases are available to the user or up to eight custom gases can be selected. The high accuracy measurement is available on both the digital and analog outputs.

As the industry’s need for improved accuracy grows, the 400-I Series is an excellent solution to achieve process improvements with much lower cost as compared to other thermal, Coriolis, and dP flow meters.
